Did you know that back in the early 1920’s, George Merrick hired publicity biplanes to promote Coral Gables? It’s true! Mabel Cody’s Flying Circus performed aerial tricks in the Gables sky and would even land on the Granada Golf Course. Talk about an over the top way to attract attention to Gables real estate. While I do not think that we could get away with such a stunt now, what a special way to have advertised in the Roaring 20’s!
