I love a happy news story, and this is definitely one of them! A group of nurses from Jackson Memorial Hospital, who have been working on the front lines of the COVID pandemic, were recently scheduled for a 48 hour training. Imagine their surprise when, instead of a 2-day training session, they were whisked off to the Keys for a 2-night stay at Hawks Cay Resort! The resort on Duck Key treated the nurses to a well-deserved and fun-filled getaway as part of its Heroes Salute program.
I did not know about Hawks Cay’s Heroes Salute program. It “honors active and retired members of the military, first responders, law enforcement, firefighters, and medical personnel with discounts and tribute events throughout the fall season. In celebration of the launch of the program, the resort is recognizing all heroes, especially those working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, by giving away a series of two-night stays for two,” according to the resort’s website. What an incredible program for such deserving people!
