Across the country, home sales are still soaring thanks to extremely low interest rates, our newfound work-from-home culture, and people’s need for more space because of the amount of time we are all spending at home. In coastal and other resort-type areas, people are also snapping up vacation homes because they can work remotely and because travel has become more difficult. According to the National Association of Realtors, the amount of available housing inventory nation-wide in September was down 1.3% from August and down 19.2% year over year, which is truly indicative of what the Pandemic has done to the real estate market!
In Miami we are seeing similar results due to people leaving condos for single family homes, as well as people relocating for tax purposes. It has been an interesting and dramatic response to the pandemic.
