A March 6th article in the New York Times titled, “If it’s March, They Must be in Miami” discussed what so many of us realtors have been seeing. The wealthy don’t just have first and second homes anymore. They travel between four and five homes depending on the season and the homeowner’s demographic. It shows that Miami increases its multimillionaire population to 5,410 in the peak months and falls as low as 1,170 in the low months. This is happening between New York, LA, the Hamptons, Aspen, and Southern Europe. It is compared to a hub and spoke scenario these days, as opposed to the old single vacation home model. This is our season in Miami, so have fun hobnobbing with the plethora of multimillionaires enjoying our beaches, fine dining, and nightlife! Funny, I love the summers in Miami.
