Have you ever hired a contractor and wished you had known what you were getting into? Here are some tips on what to do next time from EWM’s third-highest producing Realtor {2012} R.E.A.L. award winner {2012}, Ashley Cusack.
First and foremost, interview the person and make sure you get along and have the same work ethic. Miami, while a wonderful city, has proven time and time again to not always produce the most diligent workers. You need to make sure when you hire someone to do a job for you that they are going to finish it to your satisfaction.
This brings me to point number two. Ask for references and don’t just put these numbers in a drawer. Call them! Typically people will give you an honest analysis. Remember, no one is perfect and there may be things you need to be aware of. But make sure the references are positive and any shortfalls they disclose are things you can work with.
Price out different vendors, but remember the cheapest is not always the best. You will have to go back to my first two points when evaluating the prices you have received.
As much of my work takes place in Coral Gables and Pinecrest, it is also very important to make sure these vendors are licensed and can manage their way through the permitting process at the pertinent city.

Whether you’re looking to buy or sell your home, let me help you from start to finish with my results-proven: professional marketing, excellent property exposure and comprehensive experience.
