It’s exciting to hear of the plans designed to drastically improve the access road under our metro rail. It’s sounding like a GREAT new path for my long weekend runs! The idea is to create a 10 mile linear park with a variety of settings as you bike, walk, or run along the Metrorail beginning at the Miami River, Brickell station, all the way to Dadeland station. There will be two separate paths for walking and biking, lush landscaping, places to sit and socialize, work out stations, and really so much more. Some of the more creative ideas include art displays at the Coconut Grove station and around the University of Miami there will be a new business “pop-up” concept where entrepreneurs can temporarily open shop and market themselves. The access road under our metro is so underutilized and the link below will show, in more detail, the improvements coming in 2016.
