This graph ran in the Business Monday section of the Miami Herald in late September. I wanted to share it with you because it so clearly shows where our real estate market has been and where we are. The correction we saw between 2008 and 2011 is quite significant. You can also see here that for the past 36 months, both single family homes and condos have remained in the healthy range of a 6-9 month’s supply. The median price of a single family home went down to $177,000 at its low in 2011, however, has increased to just over $250,000, representing about a 40% increase. Condos show the same fluctuation with a low of about $120,000 and an increase to almost $200,000, a 60% gain.
