Inspections have always been an important part of the purchasing process, but now they can be a little trickier. With this shifting market, it’s more important than ever to make sure contracts are tightened up as much as possible. More and more often, I am seeing buyers expecting sellers to negotiate the inspections, making them more of a struggle than they have been in recent years. It’s probably due to the fact that buyers are paying more today and, therefore, expect the house to be in better condition.
So, if you are a seller and you’re entering into a contract, be aware that you may go through more than one contract before you actually get to closing.
