Did you know that the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine, the university’s graduate medical school, is the oldest medical school in Florida? It was founded in 1952! U health is now expanding and plans to build a new facility, Lennar Foundation Medical Center, on 5550 Ponce de Leon, right here in Coral Gables. This ambulatory care center will be 200,000 square feet and will include urgent care, outpatient surgery, women’s and men’s health, physical therapy, diagnostic imaging, and radiation oncology. The goal is to bring the expertise of the University’s physicians and researchers to more patients and to get them closer to the student population. The facility will be connected to a parking garage, will offer valet parking, and even some water side dining! The project is scheduled to be completed Fall of 2016.
