Growing in Grace at St. Thomas Episcopal Church!

I used to take a wonderful parenting class that you’ve probably heard of called Growing in Grace, taught by Sue Nichols and Laura Walker. As life got busy and my kids got older I stopped taking it, but I truly miss them! They spoke today at St. Thomas, my children’s school, and it reminded me about how great their classes are – always fun, witty and full of advice on how to raise hearty kids today. I’m a member of St. Thomas Church and was thrilled to learn that they are going to be at the church for the next four Sundays from 9-10am teaching their class and reflecting on a great book called, “The Blessings of a Skinned Knee.” Regardless of your religion, beliefs or faith, there is a lot to be gained from hearing what Sue and Laura have to say. I encourage you to come and be a part of these classes and then join us for church at 10:00. Come experience Growing in Grace and St. Thomas Episcopal Church!

Beaux Arts Festival of Art this Weekend!

Looking for something to do this weekend that is fun for the whole family and free?  Come to the 61st Annual Beaux Art Festival of Arts on the University of Miami’s campus! The festival is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5.  As many of you know, I’ve been a volunteer and supporter of Beaux Arts for many years.  It is a wonderful volunteer organization that supports the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami. The funds we raise go towards providing arts education for kids and support for the museum’s collections.

We are looking forward to a great weekend with over 240 juried artists, fabulous dining options, live eclectic music and children’s art experiences. There is also an incredible Student Artist Showcase featuring art from students all over Miami-Dade County. There’s something for everyone! I hope to see you there!

Happiest of Holidays!

Regardless of your religious belief, this time of year is a time to celebrate family and keep those less fortunate in our prayers and on our minds. Amidst all the hustle and bustle, people greet each other with smiles and warm wishes, we are surrounded by family and friends and the news stations look for happy stories of people helping others. Here at EWM, we have collected more than 100 sets of new pajamas (pictured here) for the homeless children and families living at Chapman Partnership. It fills my heart to see so many people giving back to our community. I hope you are able to enjoy this beautiful time and celebrate what really matters.  May you have a blessed Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate, and may 2012 be a very happy and prosperous year!

Real Estate Marketing Outside the Box!

I’ve always believed that marketing a home well is critical to helping get it sold, and I love using creative marketing to help my listings stand out. For example, I get a big response from my presence on JustAskBoo! I also make property booklets complete with photos and property disclosures that I hand out at showings, build individual websites for all listings, have a presence on many major home-search websites, and regularly advertise in the Neighbors section of the Miami Herald.

While I do all of these things and more, I’m open to other ideas and love being creative. Next week I’m hosting a Holiday Shopping Bazaar at 1300 Campamento Ave in Gables by the Sea from 11a-3p on Wednesday! I would love for you to stop by and do some shopping while you preview this beautiful home. We will have many vendors and Perdigon Title Services is providing refreshments.
